- You are 20 years old or older.
“Why am I required to live on campus?”
You’re going to be adjusting to major life changes this year, and research and experience have informed our decision to require you to live in on-campus housing for your first year. For many first year students, this may be your first time living away from home, and living on campus provides a transition period where you have a sense of independence with the comfort of added safety nets.
Off-Campus Housing
If you're a graduate student or an undergraduate student who has fulfilled the on-campus residency requirements listed above, you don’t have to worry about living on campus. We understand finding the perfect off-campus housing can be overwhelming, but we’ve got resources to help you with your search. From rental listings to roommate finder services, we've got you covered.
I love the small, quaint atmosphere that NSU provides—you get to know pretty much everyone on campus and the classes are a good size for the facilitation of learning. I enjoy living on campus because it puts you right in the center of the action, with easy access to events and amenities. In the halls, I enjoy having my friends over for movie nights to take a break from studying, and around campus I like to hang out at the pool and the UC with friends.

Dining and Meal Plan
As an on-campus resident, you will automatically be enrolled in one of two Declining Balance (DB) meal plans each semester. Apartments that have full kitchens require a lower Declining Balance plan than those that do not— such as Leo Goodwin Sr. and The Commons.
If you still have DB funds at the end of the fall semester, the remaining balance rolls over, but you will be charged the full amount again for the winter semester. A balance remaining at the end of the winter semester will not roll over.
